The Poetry and Thoughts of Jane Carol

YOU - - ME

A restless ocean searching for lost sands,
The wind with nothing against which to blow,
A heart torn in sorrow from its body,
A tree stripped bare of its leaves,
ME WITHOUT YOU.

A church without a congregation,
A picture of food to a starving child,
An orphan looking in on a family gathering,
The voice and sound of laughter to a deaf mute,
ME THINKING OF YOU.

A new day breaking with no dawn,
A crimson sunset to a blind man,
A baby to a sterile woman,
A grandfather clock with no pendulum,
ME TRYING TO FORGET YOU.
