The Poetry and Thoughts of Jane Carol

Doris

  1. Holes in the garden
    Dirt on the floor
    Paper in pieces
    Feet at the door
    Soft white tornado
    Flies through the house
    Is it some vermin
    A cat or a mouse?
    No JUST DORIS.
  1. Wake with a vengeance
    Tear round the floor
    Slippers are flying
    Quick open the door
    Race round the garden
    Charge in again
    Full of the Devil
    She's such a pain
    THAT DORIS.
  1. Biting of fingers
    Smacks on the nose
    Quick put on socks
Or she'll bite off your toes
    That's it -she's going
    I can't stand anymore
    No don't come near me
    I don't care like before
    BAD DORIS.
  1. Dirt in the kitchen
    Poo, on the floor
    Mud on her nose
    Bed by the door
    Feet caked in dirt
    Nips that cause pain
It's your turn to clear up
    What she's done again
    She's YOUR DORIS.
  1. Sweet smelling bundle
    Fresh from the bath
    Big eyes so pleading
    They tear you in half
    Licking and loving
    Falling asleep
    Twitching and calling
    Dreaming of sleep
    OUR DORIS.
  1. Time has passed by
    See how she’s grown
    She thinks she owns us
    Even house and home
    She’s demanding walks
    And all doggy things
    Like new tennis balls
    And rubbery rings
    BOSSY DORIS.
  1. Dad’s fast asleep
    But wake him up quick
    Cos’ here comes his girl
    With wet waking lick
    Now rounding him up
    Can’t stop to talk
It’s time I went out now
    Time for my walk
    TAKE DORIS.
  1. Now we’re going home
    And a soft gentle touch
    From a cold black nose
    Says thank you so much
    Now let’s cuddle up
    I’ll just share dads chair
    There’s not much room
But I know he won’t care
    STROKE DORIS.
  1. And now it’s time
    To go off to bed
    he just nudges both
    It’s ten she said
    She makes us laugh
    She gives us her all
    She’s bossy and silly
    And no trouble at all
    WE LOVE DORIS.
